THE PROJECT: SOUND FROM MONSTER
The live series started with one peculiar gig in Guangzhou in 2008. SOUND FROM MONSTER organizes cross-platform, multi-media music performances in South China. Monster KaR, a conceptual figure, released its first music album I DO NOT MIND… IF YOU LEAVE ME. The production is a collective effort integrating Canto-style electro, indie rock and post pop.

THE ORGANIZER: DESIGN BY GUANGZHOU
DBG is the flagship store of domestic creativity in South China. The group promotes local-bred original culture with attitude. DBG’s creative division masterminds exhibitions, designer stores, music labels and online magazines. The group collaborates with and represents Chinese and international designers, artists and musicians, stirring up curatorials, multi-media productions, live shows, cultural exchange, publishing, photography and conceptual projects. Our works and designs have toured the nation and overseas, appeared on creative markets and music festivals. DBG is also the local organizer for NOTCH Music Festival responsible for the full process of creative planning.
Our production division recently designed Bobby Chan’s China merchandises, Coldcut’s exclusive package for British label Ninja Tune, co-produced the vinyl Monster KaR figures with Shanghai’s AdFunture and worked with City Pictorial on the magazine’s concert series.
DBG values diversity, innovation and friendship. We wish to provide an effective cross-cultural platform for creative professionals from different backgrounds.
